About This Course

This course offers the opportunity to learn Lean Management from the manufacturing perspective (Lean Manufacturing) but it also offers the service operations perspective (Lean Office). The course aims to introduce the philosophy, concepts, methods, and techniques necessary to propose and realize process improvement projects. The attendees of the course will know the conceptual foundations of Lean Management but also, they will be able to implement various methods and techniques such as Jidoka, JIT/JIS, 5S, poka-yoke, among others.

Felipe Martinez

The development of his career focuses in Lean Management. His offer as a consultant includes teaching the methodology and support organisational teams to develop and implement specific projects. He teaches Lean Management in Prague and Porto. For more than 3 years he has lead several projects in different industries throughout the minor specialization Management Quality and Lean Six Sigma at the university. He is also active in research. This explores the creation of a leanness measurement system and it investigates the application of Lean methodologies in traditional (manufacture) and non-traditional institutions and fields such as Lean Health Care, Lean Higher Education and Lean HR. He is Industrial Engineer (Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Bogotá) and PhD in management (University of Economics, Prague). He has work experience in Colombia, India and the Czech Republic.
